In Pulaski County, GWCL attorney Mark Popovich assisted local officials to successfully compete in bringing The Patton Logistics Group to the New River Valley Commerce Park. Patton Logistics is an integrated supply chain solutions provider based in Milton, PA, and marks the second tenant to sign with the commerce park. The company plans to invest $12 million to develop a new warehousing, logistics and freight services hub that will further serve its clients along the east coast, and bring 33 new jobs to the area. As general counsel to Virginia’s First Regional Industrial Facility Authority (VFRIFA), Mark collaborated with officials from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), Pulaski County, and Onward New River Valley to secure the project for Virginia. VFRIFA consists of 11 member governments, including Pulaski County, that own and manage the New River Valley Commerce Park.

In Franklin County, Mark and firm co-founder Jim H. Guynn, Jr., worked with local officials to secure a $29.7 million investment by Traditional Medicinals, Inc., a leading seller of organic and Fair Trade™ herbal teas in the U.S. and Canada. It will build a 125,000-square-foot tea manufacturing and processing facility in Franklin County’s Summit View Business Park, and will bring 56 new jobs to the area. Based in Sebastopol, CA, the company considered properties in both Virginia and North Carolina as the location for its new East Coast operation. Mark and Jim assisted officials from Franklin County, the Virginia Economic Development Authority (VEDP), and the Roanoke Regional Partnership to win the project. Customers can purchase Traditional Medicinal teas at most national retailers including Target, Wal-Mart and Whole Foods, as well as online through the company website and Amazon.
