Botetourt County Opposes Water Rate Increase at State Corporation Commission

Guynn, Waddell, Carroll & Lockaby attorneys, Mike Lockaby and Paul Mahoney, are representing Botetourt County before the Virginia State Corporation Commission in a major rate proceeding by Aqua Virginia, Inc. Aqua is a major national for-profit water company that serves 2,300 connections and 5,500 customers in the County, and 80,000 customers across the Commonwealth. County Attorney Michael Lockaby told the Board of Supervisors last week that the State Corporation Commission (SCC) hearing officer scheduled the hearings for Aqua Virginia customers in Botetourt, Franklin and Montgomery Counties. The hearings are at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. [on May 15, 2018, at Lord Botetourt High School]. The Board of Supervisors joined other counties that are served by Aqua Virginia to fight a proposed water rate increase.
